My Theory
Ok, so why is it that some stuff is SO bad, and everyone knows it, but for some reason someone puts it on a CD and people actually buy it? I mean really, you can’t think of anything better to spend your hard earned money on than, say, Crazy Frog? William Hung? Does the world have expendable resources for producing this crap? Of course you can’t be mad at the folks who make it, someone obviously thought it was a good idea, and if it didn’t sell it wouldn’t be so well known. People buy it as a joke, or as a gag gift, because for some reason they think it’s funny but I don’t think we should be encouraging it’s production. Every dollar spent makes a market for it which means more and more gag artists get a CD. It’s amazing that not only do you not have to have talent to be famous anymore, now you can be famous because you’re terrible. Talk about the land of opportunity! All you have to do is be actually talented or just pretty, rich, or simply horrible and you can be totally famous. Just think of an annoying sound and put it on a disc! Personally I blame the suffering music industry on people who buy terrible CDs on purpose. I know there is a lack of good stuff to buy, but it doesn’t mean you should spend your money on something you’ll listen to for 5 minutes and then let it sit around to collect dust because it’s just a headache in a jewel case.
